Our Story
A product of the Auburn University entrepreneurship program, West to East was never supposed to make apparel. West to East was actually founded as a hunting production company. The only problem was that I hated filming and hated editing more than that. My professor said that I needed to generate some cash flow because the 150 subscribers weren't cutting it. I loved wearing hats so I figured, why not just make my own and sell them. One sit down brainstorming session with a friend at Auburn led to a hidden passion I never knew was there.
Some people might wonder why West to East and not East to West? Easy answer... WE sounds way better than EW. West to East's meaning stems from the verse Psalm 103:12 " As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us".
We want to give people to opportunity to honor God through what they wear. A cross between outdoor and athletic style, we strive for the perfect blend of someone who might not hunt or someone that spends every day in the woods.
The Vision
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." — Psalm 103:12
The name West to East is rooted in this powerful picture of grace, freedom, and new beginnings. Our vision is to build a brand that reminds people to live with purpose, embrace adventure, and move forward with confidence. Through the outdoors, community, and quality products, we hope to inspire people to pursue the life they were created to live.
The Style
The outdoor industry has long been defined by the same look and the same ideas. At West to East, we're bringing creativity back to the outdoors. We blend fresh design, meaningful storytelling, and a modern perspective. Our goal is to create apparel that stands out, sparks conversation, and reflects the individuality of the people who wear it.
The Legacy
There wouldn't be a West to East without Lee Hubbard. The time spent with him created a passion for the outdoors that never stopped growing. He never got to wear any of our apparel but his influence on our hats will last forever.
"We can't change the world on our own, but we know He can, so that's why we will."
